Rehearsals for our two concerts, usually in December and May, take place every Monday from 7.30 to 9.30 pm in the Kelsick Centre in St Mary’s Lane, Ambleside where we have a lot of fun learning the new pieces and building up our confidence until the time of the concert.  Accompanied by a pianist, our Musical Director helps us interpret the music and gets us “concert ready”.

The Kelsick Centre is in the heart of the town, has good facilities with nearby parking where we enjoy the use of a large rehearsal room which is bright and well heated.

Music for each of the concerts is provided to the Choir for a small fee of £5 each term (Autumn and Spring concerts).  Members also pay an annual fee to support the costs of hiring facilities, music and musicians.
Although we like to have everyone at rehearsals we realise that this is not always possible and acknowledge that members will be absent from time to time for holidays and other commitments. There is no restriction as to the number of rehearsals which have to be attended in order to sing in a concert but the Musical Director does expect regular commitment in the build up to the concerts which includes additional rehearsals in the concert venues, St Mary’s Church, Ambleside.

We do not hold auditions for our members but accept new singers who love the music and are able to put the time in to learn the notes so that rehearsal time is spent on dynamics and building up the music to be concert-ready.
